Local governments have very important roles in conservation of environment. All the species living in the environment are also the elements of the environment. So it is the responsibility of the local governments to ensure a safe and livable environment to all living things. However, some living species have come to the point of extinction as a result of some people's unconscious behaviors. One of these living species is the taurus frog living in taurus mountains in Niğde city of Turkey. This study emphasizes the role and importance of local governments in conservation of the taurus frog (Rana holtzi), one of endemic species.
