Abstract

Throughout the ages – and especially after the scientific revolution in the 17^th century – the behaviour of researchers has been subject to some form of regulations that have reflected the normative system prevailing within the research community. In addition, researchers have also sought to show respect for general ethical rules and social norms. These are integral to research ethics.
