Abstract

The study highlights the crucial role of faculty development programs (FDPs) in enhancing the quality of education, particularly in higher education institutions. It underscores the necessity for continuous training and development of teachers to keep up with advancements in pedagogy and technology. The evolution of FDPs, emphasizing the need for programs to address various aspects of faculty development, including curriculum development, interpersonal skills training, and career counseling. It also touches upon the challenges faced by higher education in terms of faculty shortage and the importance of addressing these challenges through proactive measures such as FDPs. It aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of FDPs in enhancing teaching-learning environments, strengthening institutional mechanisms, and developing psycho-social behaviors of teachers. The study utilizes quantitative methods, including surveys and statistical analysis, to gather and analyze data from college teachers who have participated in FDPs. The study also emphasizes the significance of professional development in improving the overall quality of education and meeting the evolving needs of students and institutions.
