Abstract

The present research aims to examine oral and dental macroscopic diseases in dogs and cats by a descriptive
and analytical method using library resources. Due to the high incidence of oral and dental diseases in dogs
and cats, the widespread oral infections seem to be caused by dental calculus, infection, foreign objects, oral
infections, tooth fracture, gingivitis, and periodontal disease, all of which are caused by oral and dental hygiene
non-observance. According to the results, the major factor was the nutrition type of dogs and cats. Therefore,
this study and other studies around the world demonstrate that the incidence of these diseases corresponds to
the global incidence, and the causes are similar to those discovered worldwide.
