Abstract
Aim: The main aim of the research is to find the flexural strength of coir mate and pistachio shell powder under NaOH treatment based on polyester composite. Materials and Method: The composite materials were laminated using the hand layup method, with Coir serving as the control group and Pistachio shell powder serving as the experimental group. There are 20 samples in each group for a total of 40 samples. The independent sample test was conducted with a G power of 80%. The parameters include Coir mate fiber (gsm), Pistachio shell powder (wt.%), and NaOH treatment (hours) were chosen for composite lamination at three different levels. For flexural strength estimation, the composite plate was cut to the ASTM recommended size and 9 experimental tests were conducted using the L9 orthogonal array. The fibers were immersed in 5 % NaOH solutions for various periods of time. Results: The Flexural strength of Coir mate fiber based composite and Hybrid composites are (28.18 MPa) and (25.52 MPa), with a significant value of 0.001 (P<0.05). Conclusion: The flexural strength of proposed coir mate and pistachio shell powder based composite and hybrid composite has been observed. It was concluded that the hybrid composite has a 9.90% higher Flexural strength than coir mate composite.
