Abstract

There are immense possibilities of water resources development in Chhattisgarh.  The average annual rainfall here is more than the annual rainfall of the country, but due to lack of adequate protection, there have been problems in their planning and management.  Therefore, keeping in mind their proper management, alternative and beneficial use, there is a great need for water resources conservation, planning and management.  The research paper is presented for these purposes.  All the bio-inorganic elements obtained from nature, which are refined and modified by humans according to their needs through their intelligence, labor and technical knowledge, are called resources.  That is, anything or its quality which is useful for human beings is called a resource.

The process of resource conservation, preservation and promotion has been started keeping in mind the future needs due to the dwindling stock of resources, the end of some resources forever, the pollution of some resources and the lack of consciousness towards some.  Social forestry, wildlife sanctuaries, project tiger etc. are the results of this.  Management of water resources and pollution control, soil conservation, population control etc. are programs of resource conservation.  The development of new sources by saving the traditional sources of energy is also an integral part of this.
