A Survey on the Plant Leaf Disease Detection Techniques

Abstract

Plant disease detection holds significant importance in India. As plants are essential for sustenance, being integral to our daily lives and even our respiratory system, proper care for them is imperative. Numerous studies have indicated that agricultural product quality may suffer due to various factors, including plant diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Leaf diseases not only hinder plant growth but also jeopardize crop yields. While expert identification of plant diseases is necessary, manual methods are time-consuming. Hence, there is a pressing need for automated detection methods. This paper provides a survey of existing techniques for detecting plant leaf diseases.
