Abstract

This review investigates the use of composite materials in turbofan engines to achieve lightweight designs, higher fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions. It discusses the advantages of advanced composites such as carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRPs), ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), and titanium matrix composites (TMCs) in addressing the challenges associated with traditional metallic components. The methodology involves material selection, advanced manufacturing processes, and performance evaluation. Results demonstrate the significant impact of composite materials on engine efficiency and emissions reduction, paving the way for innovations in the
aerospace sector.
