Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine and metabolic disorder with significant reproductive and psychological consequences. While biological mechanisms such as hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, and chronic anovulation are well established, psychodynamic theory provides insight into how unconscious emotional conflicts, stress, and coping behaviours influence illness perception and quality of life. This article integrates psychoneuroendocrinology and psychodynamic perspectives to explain the mind–body connection in PCOS, highlights the vicious cycle of infertility and emotional distress, and discusses the complementary role of homoeopathy within a biopsychosocial model of care.
