Mantra Literature: Past and Present

Abstract

The topic of the proposed paper is Mantra Literature: Past and Present. ' Tantra played a special role in the religious and cultural traditions of society and civilization. It is difficult to define mantra literature. In a general sense, a 'mantra' is a set of words used in a special projection method to remember a specific energy for the achievement of various purposes in folk life. Old Kamrup was famous for its tantra-mantras. Once upon a time, the Mayang area of ​​Morigaon was famous for mantra practice and magic. However, in the present age of science and technology, the use of mantras is becoming increasingly limited. Therefore, this paper attempts to examine the past and present status of Assamese mantra literature.
