Abstract

Background: The pandemic of zoonotic coronavirus illness COVID-19 has put human lives at peril. During this epidemic, male infertility is more likely since men are more sensitive to illnesses. We aim to assess Does COVID-19 or vaccination affect male fertility and sperm DNA fragments in patients with a normal male factor or not.  In this study, 160 patients (320 semen samples) were obtained from patients referred to assisted reproduction in the Fertility Clinic at International Islamic Center for Population Studies and Research (IICPSR), Al-Azhar University, and divided into 4 groups. All samples were examined with Halo sperm G2 kit and also examined with an Oxi sperm kit. Our results showed that COVID-19 affects male fertility negatively in the studied group compared to the control. Conclusion: We concluded that COVID-19 affects male fertility negatively.
