Abstract

The Islamic Sharia has given the greatest attention to the mind, as it is the instrument of perception and
discrimination among human beings. With this instrument, God Almighty favored it over many of those who
created it, and God Almighty has directed us to use this instrument through urging contemplation, contemplation,
contemplation, and consideration of the heavens and the earth and what is in them, for the mind is the origin of
religion. As it is the source of assignment and responsibility, and if the human mind is disturbed, the nation's
system in general is disturbed, and its owner becomes a burden on society, and a source of evil for society.
Therefore, the law prohibited alcohol, drugs, and everything that destroys the mind. There is no doubt that the
prohibition of these things that are harmful to the mind is one of the strongest evidences of Islam’s care and
preservation of it. Therefore, Islam legislated punishment for those who consume those things that corrupt and
destroy the mind, such as drugs and others. Therefore, Islam is concerned with preserving the mind and making
it part of self-preservation. God, Blessed and Exalted be He, entrusted the assignment, in a sentence and in detail,
to the existence of this mind. The legal discourse is directed only to the wise, and through it the will is directed to
comply with God’s commands. The benefits of the organs are invalidated by the loss of the mind, for the madman
loses his benefits and his organs after the loss of his mind. Therefore, tampering with the mind and corrupting it
is a major crime, which is considered one of the most horrible crimes.
