Abstract

Aim:The present research work focuses on investigation of impact properties of novel combinations of hemp and prosopis juliflora bark reinforced epoxy composites. Material and Methods: The hemp fibre and prosopis juliflora bark were used to fabricate the composites by hand lay up technique. In this research hemp fibre acts as a control group and Prosopis juliflora acts as an experimental group. Each group has a sample size of 20, and a total sample size of 40. The independent sample test is carried out using a G power of 80 %. The specimens were cut according to the ASTM standards for the estimation of impact strength. Experimental trials were accomplished by the L9 orthogonal array. Results: The impact strength obtained for the hemp fibre based composite is25.46 kg/m2 and hybrid composite is 28.72 kg/m2 with a significant value 0.028 of (P<0.05). Conclusion: In comparison to hemp based composites hemp and PJ based hybrid composites provide highest impact strength. The maximum value of impact strength was found at parameter values A3, B3, and C2 (28.72kg/m2).
