Intestinal parasitic protozoa in some types of birds in Tikrit city

Abstract

756 birds were collected, including 152 from Columba livia, 138 from C. oenas, 113 from C. alumbus, 144 from Streptopelia turtur and 209 from S. sengalensis, from Tikrit / Iraq from November 2021 to April 2022. The animal protozoa of Eimeria columbarum were diagnosed in the small intestine, in the type (C. livia, C. oenas, C. alumbus, S. sengalensis), with an infection rate of 14.83%, 4.38%, 10.47%, and 16.25%, respectively. . The primary animal species, Eimeria labbeana, parasitized in the C. livia, C. alumbus, S. turtur, S. sengalensis birds, at a rate of 8.93%, 2.84%, 5.44%, and 21.88%, respectively.
