Study of Physiological Changes Induced By Therapeutic Dose of Contraceptive Pills (Yasmin) in the Liver and kidneys of albino mice

Abstract

Combined contraceptive pill (Yasmin) is an great contraceptive which used thru a very big vary of female worldwide , and it consists of ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone .This study was designed to investigate the physiological adjustments of the liver and kidneys accompanied with the cureĀ  by (Yasmin) in laboratory mice .25 mice were used , divided to three crew , the first crew used to be the control crew consisting of 5 mice ,while experimental animals ,which every crew consisting of 10 mice , were treated with contraceptive pills for 10 and 20 days at a dose of (0.1ml) in concentration . The results of the biochemical analyzes recorded a significant increase in the ranges of the hepatic variables (AST , ALT , ALP ) and kidney (creatinine) in the blood serum of all mice treated with (Yasmin) compared to the control group . The results of this learn indicate that the combined oral contraceptive tablet (Yasmin) has potential to impair liver and kidney function and may lead to liver damage and kidney failure.
